Growing Trees, one sec ...

These 2-year GentreeXT CMP-infused loblolly pine seedlings are off to an incredible start

These 2-year GenTreeXT CMP-infused loblolly pine seedlings are off to an incredibly strong start, but they have their work cut out for them for sure.

With 5-8+' of height gained in the first two growing seasons, and an early mid-March growth launch just now starting for this coming 3rd growing in McCormick County, SC, these GTXT trees are delivering survival, growth and stem quality value from the start; but they still have their work ahead of them. They are planted on a range of tough soils here on the Gravely Tract including Cataula sandy loam (with a fragipan at 21-30" of depth) and lesser areas of Wilkes fine sandy loam (bedrock at 10-20" of depth). Thankfully there is some portion of Pacolet and Enon sandy loam soils with rooting potential to 80" plus. But for all soil types present, the lower than normal 403 tree per acre planting density assignment will certainly help by providing more soil growing space per tree.
